BSc Paramedic Studies - Undergraduate

University of LimerickUL's Paramedic Studies Programme is open to all those with an interest in patient care in the Pre-Hospital Field. It has a highly innovative curriculum which offers students the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and competencies required for a career in professional ambulance services. During your 4 years of study you will be taught the basic medical and clinical sciences and afforded the opportunity to hone and practice your skills in a controlled supervised environment. BSc Paramedic Studies - Practitioner Entry

UL’s Paramedic Studies programme is open to experienced paramedics/advanced paramedics who can demonstrate current paramedic practice.  It has a highly innovative curriculum which offers students the opportunity to complete an honours degree by predominantly distance learning.  During your 1.5 years of study, you will be taught the basic medical and clinical sciences necessary to build into a rounded and knowledgeable healthcare professional.

BSc Hons Paramedic Studies - Practitioner Entry

UCC's Paramedic Studies programme is a level 8 programme open to practising Paramedics who wish to advance their careers. This programme is due to commence in January 2017, subject to full academic approval. This two-year programme is aimed at building on the foundations provided by pre-registration programmes and professional experience. It is designed to develop skills and knowledge applicable to current practice in general and specialist areas. Graduates of this programme will be in a position to compete for more specialised roles in the paramedical field. Competition for these places is high and having a level 8 BSc qualification will provide you with a strong foundation to compete and give you options to specialise further in the future.

This programme takes into account the burden of managing a job while studying by delivering teaching using a blended learning approach of e-learning and participation in workshops. The idea is to support you as you learn in a university with state-of-the-art facilities and experienced staff.

Healthcare Support - Pre-Paramedic

Description:

This full-time one year course will lead to a FETAC Level 5 Award in Healthcare Support (DHSXX). The programme is provided in association with the National Ambulance Service College and will cover many aspects of healthcare training as well as paramedic topics. This course will offer the first steps to students wishing to work in the area of paramedicine or ambulance work. Students will also have work placement in appropriate settings throughout the course and some may progress to further study through the Higher Education Links Scheme.
