The Irish College of Paramedics has endorsed the Paramedic PhD website, run by Greg Whitley, a Research Paramedic and PhD student in the UK.
Paramedic PhD is an international registry of 'Emergency Medical Service' related doctoral level researchers and supervisors. Over 90 doctorates and 16 supervisors from 14 different countries have been registered to date. The aims of these registries are to:
- Identify all registered paramedics who are undertaking or have completed a relevant doctorate
- Facilitate collaboration between researchers in the pre-hospital emergency healthcare field
- Enable prospective doctoral students to chose an appropriate topic and supervisor
ICoP supports the Paramedic PhD project as a useful resource for those paramedics and prehospital care professionals who are interested in undertaking a doctoral level qualification, and for those currently undertaking doctorate studies.
