Alan Batt, Vice-President of the Irish College of Paramedics, has been selected as the 2018 recipient of the Paramedic Association of Canada 'Paramedic Award of Excellence for Leadership and Community Building.'

The Paramedic Association of Canada annual awards program recognizes exceptional individuals who demonstrate the highest level of commitment, dedication and service to the paramedic profession in Canada. Alan is a College Professor in the Paramedic Programs at Fanshawe College in Canada, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Paramedic Science at CQUniversity in Australia.

Alan has been instrumental in bringing several international paramedic professional bodies together over the past number of years, including the Paramedic Association of Canada, the Irish College of Paramedics and the Turkish Paramedic Association, as well as current discussions with the Australian and New Zealand College of Paramedics. The award will be presented at the Paramedic Association of Canada awards ceremony which will be held in Ottawa on April 28, 2018.
