Critical Appraisal of the Prehospital Literature

Programme Content

The objective of this workshop is to provide an introduction to critical appraisal of the prehospital literature. It aims to equip participants with basic skills to assist them in systematically examining research papers to make sense of the scientific evidence.

Target Audience

This workshop is open to individuals working in the prehospital field with an interest in understanding the current literature and conducting prehospital research. The minimum qualification required for registration is EMT on the PHECC register.

Presenters

Several experienced presenters will facilitate this workshop including Dr Damien Ryan, Dr Martine Dennekamp and Professor Ailish Hannigan.

Approach

Participants will be introduced to critical appraisal through a series of lectures, practical exercises and group activities. There will also be ample opportunity for informal discussions during the workshop.

Cost

The cost of the workshop is €25 which covers catering costs including tea/coffee and lunch. Payable by Cheque, Postal Order or Bank Draft  to the University of Limerick (please note we cannot accept cash payments).
