In October 2012 a website was developed with the purpose of proposing the formation of a Professional Body for Pre-Hospital Practitioners. The initial idea was to encourage PHECC registrants to apply and form a representative body across all domains: Voluntary, Statutory, full-time, part-time with no consideration of which uniform you wear or what rank you are.
Following on from requests we received, we extended this membership to anyone with an interest in Pre-Hospital Care: Doctors, nurses, EFRs, CFRs, OFAs, Call-Takers, Emergency Dispatchers. These members would become Associate members who would have the same membership privileges as Full members but would, however, not have a vote at ICoP elections.
