We at the education committee appreciate that not all ICoP members will be familiar with Journal Articles, and for some they seem difficult to understand at first. We want to include all members in the discussion, and ensure nobody is left out. If you’ve never even looked at a Journal Article before, there’s no better time to start.

Why Read Articles at all?

Medical Science is constantly evolving, and reading Articles helps us to keep up to date with modern medicine. Think about this. If you met a practitioner at Adult cardiac arrest these days performing 15:2 CPR you would say to yourself that he or she is a little out of date, but its not that long ago when 15:2 was the standard. If you had not been keeping up to date with developments in medical science, you would never know that CPR had changed. Medical science is constantly evolving.
