The Air Corps has completed its 100th air ambulance mission of the year. On Saturday, the ambulance transferred a young patient from Casement Aerodrome in Dublin to Heathrow Airport, London. In addition to inter-hospital transfers, the Air Corps are continuing to support the HSE National Ambulance Service in the pilot project to provide dedicated aeromedical assistance to the West of Ireland. The Emergency Aeromedical Service operates from Custume Barracks, Athlone and so far this year has been tasked 425 times.
